You are composing a song, or have finished it, and you want to test it in a simple way on your hardware. But exporting the song and compiling the tester and player is a chore, and beyond the capabilities of most musicians.
Two options exists!
The first one is the ability to play your song in real-time on the hardware. It’s great, but there are caveats:
- Digidrums, samples, SID are not supported by it.
- It requires a piece of hardware to connect the PC to your old-school computer.
Fortunately, another option exists: quick export. Opens the File menu and select Quick export for testing:

A pop-up opens:

At the top, select the output format. Only Amstrad CPC is currently supported, please contact me if you need more.
At the bottom, select the export format. Most of the time, AKG is the way to go. However, you may need to select another player, when :
- You need digidrums (AKY).
- You need multi-channels (AKY).
- You need SID (AKY).
A DSK/SNA is then generated, and all you have to do is open it on the real hardware (or emulator, booh!). The DSK has a “play.bin” file you simply have to run.
