Arkos Tracker 2.0 released!

That’s it! After 3 years in alpha version, the official 2.0 version of AT2 is released!

Just like the previous version, this version doesn’t offer much new features, but corrects a few important bugs in the players, and one potential crash in the software itself. This also means the software is getting rock stable!

As always, download in here.

What now? I’ve been working on “something huge” for this software for the past few months. This is evolving quite quickly, but there is still a lot of work to do. I hope to give news about this beginning of 2021. Just be patient, you won’t be disappointed :).

  1. Hi,

I wonder if you have any plans to release the source for the player? (i.e the C++ code) to allow other players to add playback support for it.

  2. Hi, AT2 will be open-source at some point. However, I’m curious as to what you would want to do with it. The player relies on the song structure and classes and so on, so it’s more than a few classes. Do you want to add playback of the C++ code, or create new assembler players?

  3. I’m not against it of course, especially when AT2 goes open-source. One problem is that AT2 relies on the JUCE framework for all the audio part. At the end of the day, the PSG audio relies on arrays, but there is still a part that will have to be modified if you want to be framework-agnostic. So… far from impossible, but not completely easy :).
